“Eep! It eatwin’ me!” Cabric cried early one morning just as the sun was rising.
Another sim child discovered the evil toddler eating toy box.
“It’s not eating you Cabric,” Genlisae began, a smile evident in her voice, “You just have to wriggle around a bit and work your way back out.”
Cabric wriggled a little but the toy box didn’t let go.
“You can do it. Just a little … “
“Yo! Gen!” a voice interrupted, “Over here”

She had met many men, none had yet met her standards. Actually they hadn’t met anyone’s standards. Between belching, poor hygiene, romance aspirations or an attraction to other men, things were not looking good at all for this Legacy
Vieca and Gen had established a routine. Vieca would go about her daily life, completing her coursework, skill building and such while Genlisae sat back and watched for any hopeful prospects that may appear.
“We are in this together,” Vieca commented.
“We are,” Genlisae agreed, “My success depends on your success and if you can’t find a guy with at least 1 lightning bolt we are both doomed!”
And that is exactly how it happened. One warm spring morning as Vieca ate breakfast in the cafeteria, Someone new wandered onto the grounds. He paused for a moment by the mailbox then casually strolled off to the side of the building.

Gen’s Rambles - Instalment 1
May 6, 2008 at 11:09 pm | In Gen's Rambles, Legacy Sims, Sims 2 | No CommentsHello there dear reader, all 1 of you! Welcome to the first instalment of “Gen’s Rambles”. This is pretty much a “time out” for me to discuss the more technical “behind the scenes” stuff that goes in to telling a Legacy. First an update:
Over here in the real world (not sure I live in the real world actually, but it is the world in which I play this game so we will call it “real”) the Selani’s are alive and well and breeding like … err… well … you’ll see. The gap in the actual telling of their story has been taken up by the establishing of plot elements, sub-plot elements, story archs and a cast of thosands! Okay, maybe not thousands, it just seems that way.
What started as a simple, fairly straight forward Legacy known as “The Selani Legacy” has become an entity of itself complete with vampires, witches, drama, intrigue and a parallel “Anti-Legacy”. As I mentioned, here in the real world the Selani’s are alive and well; In their world though life is about to take a twist and … you’ll see.
During all of this I have managed to refine my moment capturing skills as well as my house building, scene setting and all the other little things that go into telling a Legacy. “It’s a story! Genlisae has gained a point of Legacy Narration via trial and error!” Go me! Only a trillion more points to go.
In future story updates you will see a lot more pictures (and with them the introduction of posts featuring the “read more” tag so a single post doesn’t fill the front page of this blog for eternity), generally more interaction, and, well, the glaring examples of when I fumbled the narrator role. Children do not wait for the scene to be set to grow up!

The Selani Legacy Part 1- Chapter 2
April 21, 2008 at 4:45 pm | In Legacy Story Update, Sims 2 | 3 CommentsVieca sighed heavily and tossed her pen on the desk. She had been at college for three semesters now and still this legacy business was not getting anywhere.
Sure the coffee was great, and she was enjoying Psychology, but still it was hard to really relax and unwind when she knew she had this ‘destiny’ hanging over her head and was making no progress.
It really wasn’t her fault. She had standards after all. Being a little picky wasn’t a bad thing was it?
“Well what about those two you met yesterday?” Genlisae asked.
“They were kinda hot,” Vieca agreed “But the one was full of himself and just wants to party all the time and the other….” her voice trailed off and she stared forlornly at her desk.
“What was wrong with the other one?” Genlisea prodded taping her fingers against her keyboard.
Vieca heaved a second sigh “He was really hot, but wouldn’t you know it, he’s gay!”
“Oh … ” It was Genlisae’s turn to stare forlornly at her desk, “The cute ones always are.”
Vieca nodded and began picking at her nails.
“I’m bored.”
“You have an assignment to complete.”
“Oh I’ll do it later! I want to go out, have some fun! Meet new people! I need fun, I need social! I need to go somewhere besides just class!” Vieca exclaimed waving her arm in the air, “I’m going out and that is all there is too it!”
With that she marched purposefully down the stairs and out the front door.
“This will be a worthwhile trip,” She called over her shoulder, “You’ll see.”
Genlisea just sat back and watched, a slight smirk curling the edges of her lips.

Not long later Vieca met up with her friend Chase Hanby (beak-nosed but still a really nice guy!) and they headed off to “The Lounge”, a local campus hot spot.
“Hey Vie?” Chase began as they rounded the corner, “Is that Professor Bransfield standing there?”
Vieca looked in the direction Chase had pointed.
“It is. I wonder what she’s doing here.” Vieca mused, “She doesn’t seem the pool and juice type.”
Vieca had a class with Professor Bransfield and the woman always seemed so prim and proper. Vieca smiled, old people were always full of surprises. You think you know what to expect from them and then you come to find your polyester-pant-suit wearing professor is a pool shark!
“Evening Professor,” Vieca called to the professor as they neared.
“Ah! Vieca!” Professor Bransfield smiled widely turning to greet them, “I was hoping to run into you outside of class.”
What happened next left everyone stunned, even Genlisea who was so shocked she forgot to take a picture.
With lightening reflexes that belied her age Professor Bransfield grabbed hold of Vieca and tried her best to shove her tongue down Vice’s throat.
“AHH! Professor! What are you doing!?” Vieca cried.
“WTF!?!?” Genlisea exclaimed.
“Dude!” Chase giggled with glee, “Professor Bransfield is a lesbian! Kiss her! Kiss her!”
Vieca quickly extracted herself from the amorous older woman’s grasp and stepped back.
“I’m sorry Professor,” Vieca explained, “You just aren’t my type.”
“Aww,” Chase whined, “The Professor is actualy kinda hot for her age Vie. You should give it a try.”
“Yeah, I don’t think so. Now knock it off before I punch you” Vieca threatened raising her fists toward him.
Chase grinned at his friend, “Can’t blame a guy for trying.”
Vieca glared. Professor Bransfield pouted.
“Worthwhile trip indeed.” Genlisae giggled having recovered from her shock enough to remember to finally take a picture.

The Selani Legacy Part 1 - Chapter 1

It was a rainy fall day when Vieca first entered the halls of Academy Park Dormitory. Spirits high, she smiled brightly as she made her way up to claim her room before the other students arrived.
Arriving early definatly has it’s perks, she thought as she claimed one of two rooms with a double bed, private deck and personal hot tub. Not that the rest of Academy Park was all that bad, as dorms went this place was like a palace! All amenities: big screen tv, espresso machines in the lounge, and a small dance club on the roof. Life here would be good. The classes may be hard and the study load demanding but at least she could relax once her work was done. No harm in having such a good start to the rest of her life.
As she placed her mark on the door of her chosen room Vieca paused for a moment. What was to be the rest of her life? What did she want from life? Where was she headed?
“Genlisae?” she asked quietly, “Why am I here?”
“Call me Gen,” Genlisae replied, “Do you want the long answer or the short one?”
“Will the long answer shatter my psyche?”
“Possibly.”
“Short answer then please.”
“You are here, Vieca Selani, to found a legacy. There is a world out there that must be populated and I have chosen you to start it all off.”
Vieca paused for a moment more before replying.
“This is the non-psyche shattering answer?” she asked, her voice squeaking, “I definitely don’t want to know the long answer then.”
‘Really it’s not all that much” Genlisae went on, “You just go about your life, meet a man, fall in love, get married and have a few children. All very normal.”
“Wait, you mean I am expected to marry one of the guys wandering around here?” Vieca asked folding her arms across her chest and frowning slightly.
“That is the plan yes.” Genlisae replied.
“But they are hideous!” Vieca exclaimed burying her face in her hands, “No, no, no, no. I won’t do it. The huge chins and the no chins and the enormous lips and the noses! Oh the noses! Great hooked beaks of noses! NO!”
“I agree, they are hideous, but there may be one or two that are not so bad though that you haven’t met yet.”
“There better be!” Vieca replied. She paused again taking a deep breath and squaring her shoulders.
“Fine, I’ll marry one of them. Not that I actually have a choice, you being the one controlling the buttons and all. But he better not be too ugly and I have to really like him!”
“Deal,” Genlisae replied nodding “Now go to class. You are going to graduate with honours if it kills us both.”

The Selani Legacy - Prologue

Meet Vieca Selani. Just an average young Sim with pointy ears. Why pointy ears you ask? Perhaps they are a key to some lost heritage? A clue to a divine destiny centered around pointed earishness? Perhaps, these things remain to be seen. For now, her ears are simply pointy. The all powerful hand of Genlisae decreed that Vieca have pointy ears, so pointy ears she has!
Vieca does have a destiny to fulfill though. Vieca is destined to spawn a legacy that will span generations. Ten generations to be exact. Vieca is the founder of the Selani Legacy; She just doesn’t know it yet.

Selani Take 2

After making my original post, I went right away to create a sim. Her name was Naliu Selani. She met and fell in love with Aaron Raha, they went through college together and both graduated with honors…
Then Naliu moved back home.
As soon as she trasitioned to an adult she got what I have come to call “the blue face of death!”
Litterally her face turned blank, blue and floated somewhere above her right shoulder.
Technically speaking this should have been a simple operation of send her to a mirror and change her hair… Technically….
What actually happened was she was locked into the moveout cycle, got saved with said blue face of death, was dropped in the family bin in the home neighbourhood (still blue faced) and didn’t exist beyond the family bin!
I moved her in to a new lot even… only to have her not exist.
So I moved Aaron in as well, she still didn’t exist, he couldn’t call her either. I finally tracked her down with the Insimenator’s summon feature. as an uncatagorized NPC. I summoned her over, had her move in, she and Aaron got married and all is good right?
WRONG!
Now Aaron doesn’t exist!
Nalui can call him, but he’s gone from everywhere but her phone, *sigh*
I tried a few other work arounds, he doesn’t seem to exist anymore. So I started again with a new family in a new neighbourhood.
Thus I bring you “Selani Take 2″

Hi there!
For the time being this blog will mostly be focused on my “Legacy Sims”. Having only just read what a legacy sim REALLY is, and being a confirmed cheat addict this should be fun!
For those of you that don’t know what a “Legacy Sim” is (and to remind myself again of what I CAN’T do) here is an excerpt from TheSim2 Forums:

The Legacy Challenge: University
Goal: To create the strongest family you can over 10 generations.
Starting out:
There are several ways you can start the challenge. Create an Adult or Young Adult in CAS (Create a Sim) Male or Female, pick any aspiration you want, and assign personality points as you wish. If you successfully completed the original Legacy Challenge, you may start Legacy University by sending your 10th generation heir(ess) to college. This is a bonus since your Founder starts with friends and skills gained in childhood that CAS Sims don’t begin with.
